Stair with oak treads, white risers and square balusters

The job

Under the carpet were pine treads with a bullnose. I cut back the nosings, capped the treads with 1 in red oak and fitted new painted risers. The old turned balusters were replaced with square ones to suit the owners’ simpler style.
